Be Aware And Proactive

“Movement, now that feels good.”

That thought is what I crave for all my personal training clients, family and friends.  If you are familiar with me and the workouts I deliver you may be thinking…yeah, that’s a long shot Cheryl!   Over time, with proper alignment, correct form and sustained strengthening exercise, one can improve the capacity of functional movement and endurance regarding both joints and muscles.

Recently I found myself exercising with people in the 10am Fitness Boot Camp class. My fellow teammate Josh Hower was the instructor and he was pushing us to our max potential. Near the end of the twenty-five minute circuit I was at the 100 jump rope station. In an immensely tired moment I felt a blissful sense of freedom. I realized that what I was pushing through was completely elective and ultra-beneficial to the way I want to live my life. Upon this realization I received such a natural high that I began to swing my rope faster, I became lighter on my feet and even a smile came across my face. (I enjoyed the movement)

The underlying truth is that you get out of it what you put in to it. The minutes were challenging and it takes some vulnerable character to work through them, but in the end it is so worth it. I encourage you to snap into awareness mode and grade yourself on how proactive you are on attaining and sustaining your desired personal fitness level. Then on a larger scale take a look at the standards on which you want to live your life and see if your actions align you for success in doing so.

Ultimately each one of us decides how we want to live our life. We only have one moment in one day in one year in one lifetime- and the moment goes as quick as it came. If you choose like me you desire to get the most out of your minutes. In just one moment I gained a sustainable confidence boost that I could apply to many areas of my life. I am eager to hear your story, answer a few short questions and email them to me at cherylb@fbdindy.com.
