Boot Camp Strength Workout for October 2
Friday is a strength training workout in the boot camp class. We alternate between this and interval training, sometimes referred to as conditioning.
We do a lot with body weight exercises but today’s routine incorporated kettle bells and dumb bells. These are simple tools that can easily be used for a workout at home, in the park, or even in the stairwell of your office building. Great for runners, hikers, or bikers who want to spice things up. Put a few of these in the trunk and add a few new exercises to your usual routine.
At the top of today’s list is a new item: joint mobility. During my recent trip to visit my friend Kevin at his gym in New Hampshire, we spent some time working with Steve Maxwell who showed us some joint mobility drills. These movements are good for strengthening and protecting your joints. Steve has a helpful article about the importance of joint mobility on his blog.
