I like to kick, stretch, and kick!

Birthdays have a way of making you pause, don’t they?  Especially the ones that end in a zero.  Yikes.  It’s like the end of an era… or you could also say the START of a NEW one!  A friend recently shared this old Saturday Night Live skit, introducing us to Sally O’Malley, who is quite proud of her age.  Nothing is gonna stop this chick.  Go ahead – watch the link.  You’ll get a good belly laugh (and as you know, that counts as an ab exercise with me.)

So that video made me laugh out loud several times.  Then I found myself quoting it and kicking, stretching, and kicking… albeit in the privacy of my own home.  It’s hilarious – and empowering!

What do YOU want to still be able to do, regardless of your age?  Perhaps you want to be intentional about nurturing meaningful relationships.  Travel.  Play golf.  Learn a new sport.  Practice a musical instrument.  Walk regularly.  Read more often.  Meditate. Grow in your faith…  Think about it!  Hold yourself accountable, write it down, and just DO it.   We’ve talked about goals before and created a chart for your use if you’re interested.

One thing that will allow you to do all of those things in comfort and for longer periods of time is to take care of your body.  That’s where we come in.  Talk to your trainer and let them in on your goals.  Tell them what you want to do more or less often in your workouts.  This is helpful for us too – after all, we are here to provide tools for you to be as strong as you can be for the wild ride of life.

So when is YOUR birthday?  What if we all started to consider that day as a RE-BIRTH day?  Let old habits die and give life to new ones.  Renew yourself.  Your goals.  Celebrate being one step closer to your best self.  You’ve been made perfectly.

Real.  Positive.  Change.  - Judi
